M. Mitran, O. Velicu, R. Bohîlțea, D. Comandașu, S. Vlădăreanu, E. Brătilă

Rezumat: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-related pathology, affecting around 5-8% of pregnant patients. It is one of the major causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality, with approximative 50.000-60.000 deaths annually, mainly in medium and low-income countries. Being a multisystematic pathology, the ethiology and pathophysiology are incompletely known. The present review wishes to bring forward the international novelties on diagnosing, screening and prevention of preeclampsia. Although a widely studied issue, there still exists an accentuated discrepancy between the conclusions and recommendations made by the most important international medical societies, the case management depending totally on the doctor’s choice.
Cuvinte cheie: preeclampsia, low dose aspirin, fetal ultrasound.
